County Sligo golfer TJ Ford begins the defence of his South of Ireland Championship title on Wednesday at Lahinch Golf Club in county Clare.
The Rosses Point native tees of at 2.20pm.
Ford famously won the South in 2021 with an impressive display of golf, during what was a stellar year of golf for the Sligo man.
This year’s South of Ireland Championship format features two rounds of strokeplay qualifying on Wednesday and Thursday, before the top 64 golfers go into a matchplay knockout stage.
Other local golfers competing in Lahinch this week include Aodhagan Brady (Co Sligo), Ruairi O’Connor (Co Sligo), Seán Flanagan (Portmarnock), Sean McLoughlin (Co Sligo) and Cian Harkin (Letterkenny) – as well as 2022 West of Ireland winner Alan Fahy (Bray).
