Minister Martin opens Joe Mooney Summer School



The Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media says the return of live music festivals is providing a vital opportunity for musicians to return to normal working ways in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

 

 

Catherine Martin TD launched the 2022 Joe Mooney Summer School in Drumshanbo yesterday evening.

 

During her speech which officially opened the popular traditional music summer school, Minister Martin expressed her delight with the return of such events this year after two years of Covid -19.

 

The Green party TD says it was vital that musicians an artists were supported during the difficult days of Covid-19.  She says the role that musicians have in showcasing Ireland as an international destination should never be underestimated.
