Lifeguards called to assist stranded swimmers in Enniscrone



A Status Yellow High Temperature warning is in place across the North West and the entire country today, with temperatures expected to hit 32 degrees in some parts.

 

Local Authorities are on standby to react to the temperatures with warnings being issued of boiling tar leading to the possibility of some roads being closed.

 

Water safety advice is also being to those visiting beaches while fire safety warnings are being sounded in relation to the use of outdoor BBQ’s on campsites and the disposal of cigarettes.

 

Pete Murtagh is the Water safety Development with Sligo County Council he says that life guards have had to come to the assistance of a number of people in Enniscrone over the past few days.
