Minister under pressure to provide compensation for Drumkeerin landslide victims

The Agriculture Minister is under pressure to follow through on promises of compensation packages for farmers impacted by a landslide in County Leitrim over two years ago.


Over 20 farmers and landowners were affected by the landslide, which occurred in Drumkeerin in June 2020.


A multi-agency working group was established in the wake of the incident with the aim of working to support those affected.


Last November, Ministers Charlie McConalogue visited the area to see the destruction first hand


Speaking in the Dail, Sligo Leitrim TD Marian Harkin asked for an update on the state of play with regards to compensation while responding, Minister Michael Noonan says negotiations are still ongoing:
