Defending league champions Naomh Conaill regained top spot in Division 1 of the senior All-County league on Sunday evening with a 1-11 to 1-8 victory over county champions St Eunan’s at Davy Brennan Memorial Park.
The result assures them of a place in the Division 1 league final, most likely against Kilcar.
The Towney club had briefly taken top spot following a 3-17 to 1-7 win over neighbours Killybegs on Saturday evening.
Bundoran, without county players Paul and Jamie Brennan, drew with neighbours Aodh Ruadh Ballyshannon in what was effectively a championship dress rehearsal. The two clubs will meet in the opening round of the senior championship in mid-August.
In Sligo, league and county champions Tourlestrane joined Shamrock Gaels at the top of Division 1 following Sunday’s 3-17 to 0-10 win over Coolaney/Mullinabreena.
Tourlestrane are still unbeaten this year under new manager Fergal O’Donnell.
At Ransboro, Coolera/Strandhill and St Mary’s drew – while Calry/St Joseph’s scored a narrow one-point win over Tubbercurry.
Eamonn O’Hara’s Mohill remain top of the Masonite senior football league in Leitrim following their 5-10 to 1-15 victory against Aughawillan on Saturday evening.
Glencar/Manorhamilton collected their first league win with a six-point success away to Annaduff.
