Serious concern has been raised over the amount of time elderly people are waiting at the Emergency Department at Sligo University Hospital.
Figures released by Saolta from January to April of this year show that the majority of patients over the age of 75 were waiting in the ED for over six hours.
Sligo Fianna Fail Cllr Donal Gilroy says while there are some improvements to waiting times overall, the length of time that older people are waiting is worrying.
