Finner Camp win All-Ireland football title

The Finner Camp 28th Infantry team gaelic football team won the All-Ireland Defence Forces Medical Services cup final at the Curragh in county Kildare on Wednesday.

The 28th beat a combined team from McKee Barracks and Cathal Brugha in Dublin to claim the title, on a final scoreline of 1-13 to 1-8.

They had lost four previous finals.

The winning side was captained by Gweedore and Donegal footballer Odhrán McFadden-Ferry – and it’s the first time that Finner have won this medical services title.

The 28th Infantry Batallion is headquartered in Finner Camp, Ballyshannon, with subunits in Sligo and Letterkenny.
