Calls for more nurse specialists in neurology at Sligo University hospital

More nurse specialists in neurology are urgently needed at Sligo University hospital.

That’s according to the Neurological Alliance of Ireland (NAI), which held a briefing on the issue for TDs and Senators last week in Leinster House.

The NAI brings together 30 non-profit organisations to advocate for the rights of 800,000 people in Ireland living with a neurological condition. Their Patients Deserve Better campaign aims to highlight the need for more nurse specialists in neurology in Sligo and nationwide.

Mags Rogers, the Executive Director of the NAI has been speaking to Oceanfm news and says Sligo University Hospital needs seven nurse specialists in neurology. The hospital has just three.
