New Leitrim Cathaoirleach outlines equality in access to supports for those with disabilities as her main goal for the year

Ita Reynolds Flynn has been appointed as the new cathoirleach of Leitrim County Council.

The Fine Gael councillor for the Ballinamore Municipal District was elected to the position at yesterday’s Annual General Meeting of the council.

She has replaced Fianna Fail’s Paddy O’Rourke

She said she would dedicate her year to ensure equality in access to supports for those with disabilities, in particular, pushing for the provision of a high dependency unit for South Leitrim.

She also stressed the importance of providing affordable housing for young people who wished to live and work in their native county.
