Doherty hits back at Tánaiste following Dáil clash

Donegal TD Deputy Pearse Doherty has said his conviction for a “very minor breach of the peace” has been dealt with and called on Tánaiste Leo Varadkar to focus on supporting people who cannot heat their homes.

The Sinn Fein TD issued a statement addressing the Dáil clash with the Fine Gael leader which occurred during a debate on the cost of living.

The SF Finance spokesperson confirmed that almost three decades ago he was involved in what he described as a very minor breach of the peace in Dublin city centre.

Deputy Doherty said the matter was dealt with under the Probation Act.
