Tributes paid to north Leitrim’s Cavan GAA star Enda McGowan



There have been several tributes across the Cavan GAA community to one of the county’s best every defenders, Enda McGowan, a native of north Leitrim, who has died.

The former Breffni County captain won Ulster senior football titles in 1967 and 1969 and travelled to San Francisco with the All-Star team in the 1970s.

He was a native of Manorhamilton in county Leitrim, and won Railway Cup medals with Ulster in 1970 and 1971.He represented Ballyhaise at club level and reached a county final with them.

He was later a Cavan senior selector with the team that reached the 1983 Ulster final before losing to Donegal.
