Local TD calls for a greater emphasis to be placed on Killybegs as part of ATU Development



 

There are calls for a greater focus to be placed on the Atlantic Technological University campus at Killybegs as part of the overall ATUs development plans along the North West.

 

Speaking in the Dáil recently Independent TD for Donegal Thomas Pringle described the catering college as a huge feature of Killybegs for over 50 years, generating talent for the hospitality sector the region.

 

Deputy Pringle says he is optimistic that the establishment of the ATU will continue to create such opportunities for the area but says the campus must be afforded the necessary funding to make it a world class tourism facility:

 

 

 

 

Responding, Minister for Further and Higher Education Simon Harris recognised the potential of Killybegs and says it will have an important role to play in the overall ATU plan:
