Donegal TD calls for specific action to be taken to address north west passports backlog



A Donegal TD has reiterated his calls for a focus to clear the massive backlog of passport applications in the North West.

 

It’s after news that contact tracers working from HSE offices in Limerick will now switch to passport duties with the Department of Foreign Affairs.

 

195 thousand people sent in passport requests last month, with a 50 to 60% increase in the volumes of applications reported since Covid-19 travel restrictions were lifted.
