A spectacular goal from Donegal’s Emma Doherty gave Sligo Rovers a priceless 1-0 win against Wexford Youths in Saturday’s SSE Airtricity Women’s National League game at the Showgrounds.
Doherty cheekily lobbed the Wexford Youth’s goalkeeper in the 67th to put her side in front with a superb finish.

Rovers keeper Amy Mahon saved a 94th minute penalty to help the bit o’red claim all three points – it was her third clean sheet in a row.
Wexford Youths were second in the table going into Saturday’s game – and had already beaten Rovers 2-0 at Ferrycarrig Park earlier this season.
