Sligo Rovers drew 1-1 with Shamrock Rovers in Friday night’s televised SSE Airtricity League Premier Division game at the Showgrounds.
Andy Lyons gave the visitors a deserved lead in the first half.
The league holders controlled two thirds of this game – but the introduction of Westport’s Cillian Heaney helped spark an improved spell from the home side – and Jordan Hamilton headed home an equaliser following good approach play from Heaney and skipper David Cawley.

Rovers defender Garry Buckley, who impressed throughout, was sent off in the closing stages following a second yellow card.
But Rovers held on for a share of the spoils.
Rovers manager Liam Buckley spoke to Ocean FM Sport’s Ronan Flanagan after the game:
Elsewhere, Barry McNamee was Finn Harps matchwinner in their priceless 1-0 win at Finn Park against Damien Duff’s Shelbourne.
Derry City have moved three points clear of Shamrock Rovers at the top of the table following their 4-0 win away to St Patrick’s Athletic.
It was City’s biggest win over Pat’s since their 5-1 at the Brandywell way back in December 1995.
