Mass in memory of Aidan Moffitt will take place in Dublin today

A Mass is taking place in Dublin today in memory of auctioneer Aidan Moffitt, who was one of two men killed in Sligo earlier this month.

It’s being held in Haddington Road at 10 o’clock this morning, and is organised by the Institute of Professional Auctioneers and Valuers.

A man has been charged with murdering him and Michael Snee.

Roscommon auctioneer Sean Naughton says Mr Moffitt worked for him about 20 years ago.

The man  who died after a serious assault in Sligo town last week, will be laid to rest today.

39-year-old Russell Forde suffered a head injury at Rockmount Parade last Tuesday, and later died in Beaumont hospital.

A Celebration of his Life is taking place in Foley and McGowan’s Funeral Home in Sligo town, at 1.30 this afternoon.

He’ll be buried afterwards in Sligo Cemetery.
