Rural issues discussed with Garda Commissioner & Sligo IFA



The Garda Commissioner Drew Harris visited Sligo yesterday where he held meeting local representatives of the Irish Farmers Association.

 

Chief Superintendent Aidan Glacken also attended the meeting which discussed issues impacting the farming and rural communities.

 

Kathleen Henry is the Chairperson of the Sligo branch of the IFA she says the local farming representatives provided feedback and that there were also ‘constructive discussions’ during yesterday’s meeting.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM news the IFA official says the meeting was called in response to criminal events that have take place in rural parts of Sligo in recent times:
