Sligo Councillor pays tribute to assault victim



A post mortem examination’s taking place today on the body of a man who died after a serious assault in Sligo town earlier this week.

 

39-year-old Russell Forde suffered a head injury at Rockmount Parade on Tuesday evening, and later died in Beaumont Hospital.

 

Gardaí in Sligo are continuing to appeal for witnesses in relation to the incident.

 

The man in his late 30’s taken from the scene and treated for apparent head injuries at Sligo university Hospital and at Beaumont Hospital where he later passed away.

Sligo Strandhill Councillor Gino O’Boyle, has been paying tribute to the late Russell Forde, who lived in the Cranmore area of Sligo town.
