Sligo Councillor claims delays in driving tests is restricting work options for young people



The Cathaoirleach of Sligo County Council Councillor is expressing concern in relation to the current waiting time for involved when it comes to waiting for a driving test.

 

The Road safety Authority have confirmed that there are 34,000 people waiting to sit the exam.

 

Councillor Paul Taylor says with the lack of public transport in many rural areas young people need driving licenses to secure work in sectors like Hospitality and Agriculture.

 

He says waiting 14 weeks to sit a test in not acceptable.
