McConalogue urges applications for cross-border funding scheme



An allocation of five million euro has been announced for local authorities to support the development of new joint investment projects by cross-border Local Authority partnerships.

The money is being made available under the new Shared Island Local Authority Development Funding Scheme.

Sectors that could benefit include tourism and recreation, education, training or skills provision to meet regional needs, enterprise development, conservation of biodiversity, improving/developing natural or built heritage; and cultural projects celebrating diverse community and cultural traditions.

The closing date for applications is 27th May.

Speaking to Ocean FM News, Donegal TD and Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue said the scheme will help local authorities to continue the great work they already do on a cross-border basis., with a maximum amount of €250,000 per project awarded.
