Almost €1.5m has been allocated to the north west for work on rural roads and laneways that are not normally maintained by the county councils.
The money, under the Local Improvement Schemes, includes €716,560 for Donegal, €358,030 for Sligo and €351,880 for Leitrim.
Cavan is to get €371,140.
Works funded will help maintain and improve access to homes, farms and outdoor amenities.
