Donegal U20s reach Ulster semi-final

Donegal under-20 gaelic footballers are through to an Ulster semi-final following Friday night’s 1-13 to 0-9 win over Armagh at MacCumhaill Park in Ballybofey.

Luke McGlynn’s eighth minute goal was the game’s first score – and it gave Donegal the perfect start as they established a 1-5 to 0-0 lead in the opening 20 minutes.

Armagh managed just a single point in the opening half as Donegal led by 1-7 to 0-1 at the interval.

The Orchard men improved in the second-half and closed the gap to five points at one stage – but Garry Duffy’s side were never in serious danger.

Johnny McGroddy contributed seven points for Donegal as they now await the winners of Saturday’s quarter-final between Tyrone and holders Down.
