The addition of 38 new schools across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal under the DEIS Scheme will ‘benefit every child’.
That’s according to Sligo Independent Councilor and former teacher, Marie Casserly who welcomed Minister for Education, Norma Foley announcing the first expansion of the DEIS Scheme in almost 20 years.
A total of 310 schools across Ireland have been included in the scheme as part of a €32m investment.
26 schools have been included in Co. Donegal, seven in Co. Sligo and five in Co. Leitrim.
