Sligo Councillor says vacant properties could be used to accommodate Ukrainian Refugees.

A Sligo Councillor says vacant properties in the north west could be looked at as possible accommodation for Ukrainian refugees.

Minister of State at the Department of Justice, James Browne, said on Sunday the country is potentially accepting upwards of 80,000 refugees.

The government are also working on a ‘Pledge Portal’ where Irish people can register their intent to help.

Sligo Independent Councillor, Marie Casserly, says those with holiday homes should also consider letting their properties be used.
