Older north west residents asked to pen line for ‘Poemathon’

Older residents across Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal are being asked to take part in Poetry Ireland’s collaborative ‘Poemathon’.

The opening line has been penned by former President of Ireland and Adjunct Professor for Climate justice at Trinity College, Mary Robinson; Growing up we did not know; now we need to mend.

The idea is for people to write a single line of poetry which will then be gathered to create a collaborative poem penned by the people of Ireland with the theme being the climate crisis.

Speaking to OceanFM News, Maura Cardiff with Poetry Ireland explains how it all works.
