Driving license renewal ‘unfriendly’ to older generation says rural TD

A rural TD says Post Offices should be used as a place for older people and those without internet to access forms such as the National Drivers License Service.

Independent Deputy, Michael Fitzmaurice, says the current procedure for renewing a license is ‘unfriendly’ to the older population.

An online form can be filled in or people can call a phone line, however, Deputy Fitzmaurice says some could spend upwards of 90 minutes on the call.

He says things need to be simplified.
