Six communities around Lough McNean in cross-border initiative



Six communities on both sides of the border in Leitrim, Cavan and Fermanagh are involved in a new cross-border initiative focussing on climate change.

The project in and around upper and lower Lough McNean involves communities in Glenfarne, Kiltyclogher, Blacklion, Belcoo, Cashel and Killesher.

The communities will identify priorities in their areas, such as social isolation of joblessness, and then work alongside community development and climate change experts to come ujpo with innovative, environmentally-friendly solutions.

The Irish Central Border Area Network will be teaming up for the initiative with Tasc, a think-tank for action on social change that has been running successful initiatives in Ardara in County Donegal.
