Dr Orla Flynn has been announced as the inaugural President of the new Atlantic Technology University.
She is currently the President of GMIT and previously served as Vice President for External Affairs at Cork Institute of Technology for six years.
Dr Flynn has accumulated 20 years of experience in education management roles.
Junior Minister and Sligo Leitrim TD Frank Feighan has described her appointment as another strategic move in the formation of the new Atlantic Technology University.
