Three St. Patrick’s Day parades to mark end of Covid in west Sligo

The end of Covid restrictions will be celebrated in west Sligo this St Patrick’s Day when three villages come together to stage their parades.

The parades will take place one after the other, with the first stepping off in the farthest part of west Sligo, in Enniscrone, at the Diamond Coast Hotel at 12:30.

It will be followed by the parade in Easkey at 3pm, and in Dromore West at 4:15, for which the theme will be ‘Community Coming Together.’

The festivities will finish in Dromore West Community Centre with music and entertainment from the Tireragh branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann, which has members from all areas of west Sligo.

Geraldine McCloat, chairperson of Dromore West Village Enhancement Committee, says the three parades will form an unique event as many of the participants, businesses, sports teams and organisations involved will travel from one village to the next to take part.
