A Donegal TD says recent media reports into the finances and recruitment abilities of the HSE will do little to increase the low confidence levels that many north west residents have in the Health Service Executive.
Over-crowding and the scaling back of services at Letterkenny and Sligo University Hospitals have been raised in recent days.
A leaked recording of a meeting of senior officials from the Departments of Health and Public Expenditure, as well as the HSE. The report focused on ‘fake targets’ being set, influenced by politicians, and alleged sloppiness in financial reporting.
HSE Chief Executive Paul Reid denied the claims.
