INMO express concern with out of control trolley figures



The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is warning that health services being provided to the people of the North West is being  severely challenged due under funding and lack of resources at Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals.

 

 

The INMO is calling for urgent action on what they describe as ‘out of control trolley figures’.

 

They are also warning that many health professionals are leaving the profession due to burnout.

 

Yesterday there were 70 patients waiting on a hospital bed between Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospital’s

 

National figures earlier this week showed a return to pre pandemic levels.

 

Neil Donohoe is an industrial relations officer with the INMO for the north west.

 

He’s says staff are being fearful that large number of patients waiting on trollies is now being accepted as part of the course when it comes to the main hospitals in this region.
