Sligo Athletic Club’s Grace Foley is en route to the United States to compete in this weekend’s Millrose Games.
She is Sligo’s representative in the Games ‘World Fastest Kid’ race on Saturday.
Cian Donnelly from Tuam will be running in the boys race.
Grace is pictured here with some of her clubmates and wellwishers at the IT Sligo Athletics track, who gave her a big send-off this week.
Grace is being prepared for their races by well-known local athletics coach Dermot McDermott.
Her race is being televised this Saturday by TG4.
As well as the underage events, 64 Olympians will be competing at the 114th Millrose Games on Saturday, including three Gold Medal winners from Tokyo Olympics.
The meeting is one of seven World Indoor Tour Gold events taking place during 2022.
