There was disappointment on Wednesday for both Sligo schools in gaelic football’s Connacht Colleges senior A championship quarter-finals.
Summerhill College were beaten by St Coleman’s of Claremorris by three points, 3-10 to 1-13, in Bekan.
St Attracta’s of Tubbercurry lost to Claregalway College by seven, 2-13 to 2-6.
In the senior ‘C’ championship, Coola Post Primary School are out after a 1-13 to 2-7 loss to Scoil Mhuire of Strokestown.
In the senior D championship, Grange lost narrowly to Mohill. Colaiste Mhuire Ballymote conceded their game to St Tiernan’s of Crossmolina.
Abbey Community College, Boyle, beat Glenamaddy by 5-16 to 0-9.
There was better news for Summerhill College in Rugby Connacht Schools Junior Cup.
They beat St Ignatius of Galway (the Jez) 44-17 in Wednesday’s quarter-final.
