A Sligo Councillor says the practice of hiring private debt collectors to pursue cancer patients bills needs to end.
Independent Councillor, Marie Casserly says patients without a medical card or private health insurance must pay €80 for each chemotherapy session to a maximum of €800 a year.
Speaking to OceanFM News, she says she is also calling for a review exemptions of the inpatient charge.
