Donegal Councillor welcomes changes to Tenant Purchase Scheme

A Donegal Councillor says changes to the Tenant Purchase Scheme means pensioners in the north west living in council homes are now able to buy their home.

Under current legislation, the state pension was not seen as adequate as they were not in receipt of ‘regular income.’

Councillor, Micheál Naughton says the changes to the legislation are hoped to be implemented by the end of February.

Speaking to OceanFM News, he says the ceiling is being lowered to allow people in receipt of the state pension to buy their home.
