Man dies following Donegal Crash



A man in his 20s has died after a two-car crash in Donegal.

 

He was seriously injured in the collision on the R236 in St Johnston in Dundee, that happened at around quarter past nine last night.

 

The man was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital, where he later passed away.

 

The road is currently closed as Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a technical examination of the scene.

 

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward. Any road users who were travelling in the area at the time and who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

Another man lost his life following a separate incident in Dublin.  At around ten past nine last night a car and a motorbike collided at the junction of Kimmage Road West and Whitehall Road in Terenure in Dublin.

 

The driver of the bike, a man aged in his 30s, was pronounced dead at the scene. The road was closed for a time but has since reopened.

 

While a male cyclist in his 60s is in a critical condition in Beaumont hospital in Dublin after he was struck by a car on the Ballyfin Road in Portlaoise shortly before 7 o’clock yesterday evening.

 

The road is currently closed between Woodbrook and Palace Cross.
