Sligo v Leitrim Connacht FBD game moved to January 3rd



The 2022 Connacht FBD preliminary round game between Leitrim and Sligo will now be played on the bank-holiday Monday, January 3rd, in the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome in Bekan with a 6pm throw-in.

The game has been moved from its original date of Tuesday, January 4th, to facilitate player work commitments from both counties.

The match will be the first competitive senior intercounty football game to be played indoors on the island of Ireland.

The Connacht FBD competition is being played on a knockout basis with the winners of the preliminary round game set to face Roscommon in the semi-final on Saturday, January 8th.

The other semi-final between Mayo and Galway will be played in the Air Dome on Friday, January 7th, with the FBD final scheduled for Friday, January 14th.

All matches are being played in the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome and will be streamed live by Connacht GAA.

The throw-in time for all matches is 6pm because of the current Covid restrictions.

There will no extra-time. If any games finish level,  the ‘Golden Score’ rule will apply.
