Derrygonnelly Harps reach Ulster club final

Fermanagh senior football champions Derrygonnelly Harps have become just the third Erne County club reach an Ulster club football final, following Saturday night’s 3-11 to 1-11 semi-final victory over Clann Eireann of Armagh at Kingspan Breffni.

Early goals from Shane McGuillion (2) and Conall Jones paved the way for this historic win as the Harps lead 3-2 to 0-0 after just 13 minutes.

Stephen McGuillion was later sent off in the game, but the Harps were still full value for their win.

The team is managed this year by Sean Flanagan and coached by Ballyshannon’s Shane Ward – and they are the first Fermanagh club to reach the decider since Enniskillen Gaels in 2002.

No Fermanagh club has ever won the Ulster senior club football championship.

Derrygonnelly will now face either Kilcoo (Down) or Derry champions Glen in the Ulster final in New Year.
