Travel Technician needs to be appointed to oversee South Donegal greenway projects



A Donegal Municipal District Councillor has hit out at what he has described the ‘geographical imbalance’ that exists in Donegal when it comes to development of greenways, cycle ways and walkway projects in the County.

 

Councillor Barry Sweeney claims that there is not enough focus on developing projects in south Donegal.

 

The Fine Gael Councillor has called for local authority to recruit an active travel technician to work on the development of these projects.

 

Cllr Sweeney has tabled a motion on the issue for next Tuesday’s meeting of the Donegal Municipal District Councillors.

 

Speaking to Ocean FM news the Ballyshannon based Councillor says a greater number of projects in the north of the county are being developed at a much quicker rate than those in the south:
