25 Covid-19 patients and 85 waiting for a bed in the north west



There are 25 Covid-19 patients and 85 people waiting for a bed in Sligo and Letterkenny University Hospitals today.

16 patients are receiving treatment in Letterkenny with two in ICU and there are nine in Sligo with none in ICU.

In total, 544 people are in Irish Hospitals with the virus which includes 118 in Intensive Care.

According to the latest Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation’s Trolley Watch Figures, Letterkenny is the second most overcrowded hospital in the country with 50 people waiting for a bed.

The figure is also high in Sligo University Hospital where 35 people are waiting.

In total 469 people are waiting for a bed in Irish hospitals today.
