Taoiseach called to investigate death threat allegations

A local TD is calling for an investigation into an alleged death threat aimed at a member of the Defence Forces by a superior.

Sligo/Leitrim Fianna Fail Deputy, Marc MacSharry raised the matter in the Dail with Taoiseach, Micheal Martin.

He called on the Taoiseach to immediately contact the Chief of Staff of the Defence Forces and Minister for Defence to investigate the allegations.

Deputy MacSharry said the allegation of a death threat surfaced in 2017 however, he claims the allegation was not ‘adequately investigated.’

The Taoiseach said he would raise it with the Minister for Defence.
