New nursing home restrictions may be problematic for north west facilities

Concern has been expressed with how, new Covid-19 regulations surrounding visits to nursing homes will impact facilities in the north West.

People visiting nursing homes today will need to show a digital covid-19 cert.

New HSE guidance will require proof of vaccination or immunity at the entrance.

It’s still unsure whether UK certs will accepted by nursing homes.

This is expected to be particularly problematic for nursing homes in this region.

Sarah Lennon is the Executive Director of Sage Advocacy.  She says it’s vital that nursing home residents in Sligo Leitrim and Donegal continue to have visitors.

She’s calling for flexibility on the issue.
