Five people from the north west to receive National Bravery Awards



5 residents from the north west will be today presented with national bravery awards today.

The awards will be presented by the Ceann Comhairle, Seán Ó Fearghaíl TD, to the individuals who risked their own lives to aid others that were in danger.

Today’s ceremony at Farmleigh House in the Phoenix Park, Dublin, will bring together 25 recipients to receive their Certificates of Bravery for 17 Acts of Bravery. There were also nine Bronze Medals for Bravery awarded, while another six recipients received Silver Medals for Bravery.

The awards honour people from a number of counties including Sligo and Donegal.

Today’s recipients include Caiden Sweeney from Donegal. Who will be presented with a Certificate of Bravery

Other Donegal recipients include Jane Friel, Garda Roisin O Donnell who will be presented with a Certificate of Bravery and Bronze Medal
Sligo’s Zoe Lally -will be bestowed with a Certificate of Bravery and Silver Medal.

While Donegal Chris Steel will be presented with a Letter of Commendation
