Donegal Gardaí say people are falling victim to scams ‘regularly’.
Gardaí say scammers change their methods and stories but the goal is always the same; to access personal information and money.
People are asked to inform elderly and/or vulnerable family or neighbours and advise them not to engage with suspicious calls or text messages.
The advice is to never provide personal or financial details to anybody regardless of who they say they are or why they need it.
Banks will never send a text with a link asking people to confirm or provide their login information.
Contact your local Garda station if concerned or if the victim of a scam.
