Sligo Gardaí renew appeal in ‘Peter Bergman’ case



Sligo Gardaí are renewing their appeal to the public for help in identifying a deceased man who was discovered on a beach in 2009.

His body was found at Rosses Point 12 years ago on the 16th of June; following a post-mortem at Sligo University Hospital foul play was ruled out.

Garda investigations established that the deceased man had recently arrived in Sligo and had checked himself into a Hotel under the false name of ‘Peter Bergman’ on the 12th of June.

He was sighted and captured on CCTV in and around the Sligo area for a number days before he was found deceased at Rosses Point.

A number of items of clothing believed to belong to the deceased man were found on the rocks near where he was discovered.

The deceased is buried in an unmarked grave in Sligo Cemetery and has never been identified.
