Kilcar & Naomh Conaill to meet in Donegal SFC semi-final

Naomh Conaill beat Gweedore by 1-10 to 0-8 in Sunday’s Donegal SFC quarter-final in Ballybofey to set up a semi-final meeting with rivals Kilcar next Sunday (Oct 24th).

The game is set to be televised live by TG4.

The two clubs are already locked in a protracted dispute over the outcome of the 2020 senior final, which Naomh Conaill won on penalties.

However, Kilcar subsequently objected over the number of subsitutes used by their opponents.

Despite a number of Donegal CCCC and Ulster Council hearings, a final determination on the 2020 final is still pending.

On Sunday, Naomh Conaill were too good for Gweedore wiht Jack McKelvey’s first-half goal proving to be a crucial score.

Earlier, St Eunan’s booked their place in the last four with a less than convincing 2-12 to 2-5 win against a St Naul’s side appearing in their first ever senior quarter-final.

Their cause wasn’t helped when they lost Stephen Griffin to a straight red card in the opening minute.

Eunan’s will face St Michael’s the semi-finals after the Dunfanaghy club’s comprehensive win over Aodh Ruadh on Friday night.
