A woman was airlifted to hospital after getting caught in a rip current in Co. Donegal.

Bundoran RNLI were called to the main beach in Bundoran shortly after 9am this morning after a woman went swimming and got caught in the current.

She managed to make her way to shore, after spending 20 or so minutes in the water, and recieved medical treatment.

This is the second incident in a week after a family got caught in the same location on Saturday the 2nd of October.

Killian O’Kelly, crewman on Bundoran RNLI Lifeboat says people need to be extra cautious around the water as the winter months approach.
