Sligo councillors pay tribute to two former colleagues

This morning’s October monthly meeting of Sligo County Council was adjourned as a mark of respect to two former councillors who died recently.

They were Fianna Fail’s Paddy Conway, who was a councillor for the Enniscrone area from 1967 to 1999, and Independent Councillor William Carter from Scarden, Strandhill, who was elected in 1967 and served for a short time before emigrating to England.

After councillors paid tribute to the two former members, it was agreed to adjourn the council meeting on the proposal of Cllr Joe Queenan, seconded by Cllr Declan Bree.
