Donegal remains a Covid hotspot

Three local electoral areas in Donegal are among the country’s five worst-hit regions for Covid-19.

Milford, Letterkenny, and Lifford-Stranorlar all have 14-day incidence rates of over 1,000 cases per 100,000 people.

Milford’s is the highest in the country, at 1,038 – which is over two and a half times the national average.

Mallow in Cork has Ireland’s second-highest rate, while Blanchardstown-Mulhuddart in Dublin is fifth.

Stranorlar GP Ciarán Ó Fearraigh says Donegal remains a Covid hotspot.
