Works needed at Yeats’ grave to prevent flooding damage

Works need to be carried out at Yeats’ grave in Sligo to prevent any flooding damage, according to a local Councillor.

Sinn Fein’s Thomas Healy submitted a motion on the matter at the most recent meeting of Sligo County Council seeking funding to be made available.

He says in recent months, some residents in the area were trapped in their homes for up to three days due to severe flooding.

Councillor Healy says the local authority have limited funds to carry out the necessary works and is seeking a meeting to have the issue sorted out in the long term.
